back to class today after spring break. My muscles are dead. I looked like a football player doing echappes by the end of class. That was pretty humorous actually. 5 of the ladies from the studio went to Paris for the break and they had a lot of stories to tell. I’m feeling more graceful and more positive after a hard couple of days. I guess that’s what ballet will do. Lots of homework...
divinityphotography asked: "Hamburger hands" are when a dancer's thumbs are out rather than tucked in the palm or off to the side, making their hands look like they're holding a hamburger. The hands are almost making a C from the side.

i am so frustrated with the amount i’m able to dance right now!!! I have 4 weeks until school ends, so it’s crackdown time for finals and juries. I absolutely hate that i’m only taking one class per week. I hate that the snobby rich girls in my dorm building always kick me out of the studio so i can’t practice, and i hate that i have to leave my studio at the end of the...

theballetblog asked: Hello! They are really tight and keep their elasticity but they also cover very VERY little. I wear them more for style and to still see my hips but they don't get you very warm or keep you warm. I hope i could help! :)

somuchwastedintheafternoon asked: Hey! I see you started ballet pretty late. So did I. I'm 14 and I started last year. I just want a piece of advice. Sometimes I just feel unmotivated to dance becasue the thought gets in my head that I'm too old for this anyways. But I still love it. I'm glued to the computer screen watching proffesional ballerinas and wish I could be just like them. Do you ever feel like that and...

question of the week
I was YouTube-ing fouette tutorials a few minutes ago and I stumbled across one particularly awful video by eHow.com. What caught my eye was this: A 10 year old was like “uhhh i know more than you do. your technique is bad.”
Little miss’ tips were: 1) turn out.
Duh.
2) HAMBURGER HANDS.
so, my experienced ballerinas, what are hamburger hands!?!?

the foot problem: solved
Today I went to the doctor, and it turns out I simply have an inflamed peroneal tendon. So, she’s putting me on anti-inflammatory meds for a couple of weeks and she said it should help with ballet and other foot work :) yay!

Anonymous asked: BEAUTIFUL WOMAN AWARD! Once you have been given this award, you are supposed to paste it in the ask of 8 women who deserve it. you break the chain nothing will happen, but… it’s always sweet to know that someone thinks you’re…beautiful inside and…out.
rosamapose asked: Thanks! I am actually almost 22, the injury happened when I was 16 (I didn't stretch enough before a rehearsal :/) so it is likely something I'll live with the rest of my life but I've always had a strong interest in music (actually my chosen career field, I have a public relations degree!) and I really enjoy hip-hop haha-since that kind of dance doesn't require as much...

rosamapose asked: Congrats on moving to NY in August, I plan on moving there then as well! !Unfortunately I don't dance much anymore due to an injury from high school but I'm hoping to start up some adult classes there anyways (not many are offered where I live), but I love the things you post on your blog!
